Eternal
friendships
The table is set...a drink awaits you, tea is served, a
confortable chair is ready to wecome you.A painting by Micheline
St-Hilaire is a celebration of friendship, an invitation
to have a seat and come in and enjoy a quiet chat within
the tranquility of a living room, a den or a garden...or
better yet, if you are among the more intimate, in the
middle of the kitchen.
The fully grasp all the
warmth of Micheline St-Hilaire painting one must enter
into it, sink into the sofa, taste the poured wine, touch the
furniture finish and the brocade or the draperies, smell
the délicate fragrance of the flowers that enhance the
decor and had been placed there to make your awaited
visit all the more special.
Micheline St-Hilaire
is through her painting just as she is in life:
generous and welcoming. She wants to share with the
people she meets what comprises her world: the objects,
the cats and especially, the friendship. This is why she
often gathers around the same table people whose company
she enjoys but whom she met in différent places and at
different times.
Her goal is that,
although these people may start off being strangers, they
may build new bonds. She thus wishes to extend her circle
of friends, cultivating her relationships to make of them a
garden that could span the entire planet...just lide the
flowers that so often cover the entirety of her canvases.
Micheline St-Hilaire
is through her painting just as she is in life:
passionate and exuberant. She wants to live life's
experiences without ever looking back. In everything she
puts a bit of craziness, of originality and of the
unexpected, enjoying in advance the effect this touch of
extravagance will have on the people visiting her
surroundings. This little jeering gleam that can be
detected in her eyes transposed onto her paintings. We
often see in them a wink of real life situations.
Micheline St-Hilaire
is through her painting just as she is in life:
full of movement and light. The ample gestures that
can be seen in her paintings could colour the sky while
sowing flowers all over it. It is the same gesture as
when she extends her hand to welcome people in or when
she raises her glass. And just as through her brush
strokes light gives life to her paintings, she can
trigger smiles that light up faces.
It is because of the
flame that characterizes her that one wishes to enter the
midst of her decor and share privileged moments in her
company and that people close to our hearts, to propose a
toast to friendship and to get high on poetry.
Micheline St-Hilaire is through her
painting just as she is in life:
the voice of eternal friendships.

P.S.
I have always wished to share the better things that
life has to offer with the peoples around me. I consider
the ability to use color to do it a real privilege.
I hope you will find
pleasure in my images as mush as I have creating them.
